Movie Meme

Celebs and Media

I know I shun memes but I think this one gives a good cross section of my personality through pop culture. Also, I’m waiting for work to come across my desk so I thought I’d meme myself, privately, in my cube.

Via Gambrinous comes The Entertainment Weekly top 100 Movies from the Last 25 Years and your personal gripes.

– Bold the movie if you’ve seen it (actually it’s easier if I bold the ones I HAVEN’T seen, so that’s what I’ve done.)
– Put asterisks next to the movies you’ve seen and really liked (3*** = great! 2**= Hum ya! 1*= S’was OK)
– If you saw a film and hated it, cross it out.

i never said wfg was good, just that it was a long sctv sketch.

napoleon dynamite made me again yearn for a time machine so i could once and for all eradicate the 70s and everyone nostalgic for that shitty decade.

  2. Dead Robot

You have to consider the source: Entertainment Weekly is pablum for the masses, the “Insider Edition” of entertainment magazines. Lots of films left off because certain areas of the US havent heard of “art house films”.

Mike: Any capable actor playing a mentally challenged person gets too close to “clown”, in my books. See: I Am Sam; Swingblade; Robin Williams in Bicentennial Man…

Moulin Rouge – where do I begin? The fact that the average shot is 3 seconds long? Ewan McG’s canyon-wide mouth doubling as an air raid siren? Nicole K’s “accent”?

Andrew: SCTV was best at doing 1-2 minute sketches. I think I saw part of it on TV and turned it off. Napoleon Dynamite just made me laugh. I can’t deny it.

ugh. i’m with EP, those are a load of shit films.

i’m surprised you haven’t seen waiting for guffman – it’s a 90+ minute sctv sketch.

and, sorry to be mean, but napoleon dynamite was pure garbage. people who claim to like it are all lying and/or shills.

Wow! And I thought I was the only person in the world that hated Rain Man. Couldn’t agree more with “Children of Men” (but like almost all movies except for “Jaws” and “The English Patient” the book was better). But how could you hate Moulin Rouge??

  5. Evil Panda

Ugh, that list is so full of complete crap. The Music one was even worse. And the Video game one was just completely wrong wrong wrong.
