Comedy On the Danforth, And Other Bits

Hobbies, Toronto

My improv instructor, Gord Oxley as well as other intrepid souls, will be braving the savage crowds at Timothys Coffee (by the Carrot Common on the Danforth) Friday night, 9pm. It’s “pay what you can” so that means bring a dollar.

On odd Friday nights (starting this St Paddy’s day) Gord’s troup The Wrecking Crew perform. On evens, its Better Than Nothing (you might recognize Angela as the woman who yells “Arriba!” to the pidgeon in the courier commercials a few months back).

Also, one of the Bad Dog Theatre alumni posted this movie a while back. Jedi Breakfast.

Who knew this sort of thing was going on?

stupid march 17th. stupid ‘holiday’. stupid human race.

the joy of today for me came from watching two yokels get lost on the ttc. we rode back from the west end and all along college we had to listen to two nitwits remark on their plans for getting shitfaced at some faux-irish pub and hopefully ‘bang some chicks’. nearing downtown one kept telling the other that ‘they had to be sure to get off at bay street, the stop just after university’. when we hit yonge, fellow human and i smirked at one another as they peered about, remarking on the likelihood their stop was imminent. at parliament, where we got off, they finally puzzled out their error.

yes, i could have been nice and helped them out, but i didn’t. to hell with humans. oh, and have fun at your soiree. if i didn’t hate comedy, i’d consider offering up a dollar to attend.

SOunds like fun, didn’t know you were into improv. I almost got into it, I say almost as I ended up having a terrible chest cold and cough just as the classes started, and coincidentally the SARS hysteria was in full swing.

    Sounds like fun.
