City As Blog – Disgraced

Queer stuff, Toronto

disgraced
There are a few of these signs all around the corner of Church and Carlton, just outside the Maple Leaf Medical Centre.

If it’s true, I guess someone wasn’t offering up his status readily before offering up a body part.

There are new ones there that have since been scarred away from the poles: top half has the same message/font (can’t read all of it) and the bottom looks like a Grindhouse movie poster for “Lust behind Bars” or something. Too bad I missed the pristine versions.

I think I may have met this guy at Pride Commencements 2007 at City Hall. Took pictures of his t-shirt, that had the very same messages.
T-shirts were written on, with magic marker.

He never said what, he did to end up going to prison. And I did not ask.
He did mention “the Don” (jail).

He may have been crazy.. but on the plus sisde.. (have to find the Silver Lining)..
his clingy grey CK boxers, used as shorts, were a distraction.
Maybe… from the possible maddness that seemed to be lurking?
He seemed pretty angry. Maybe hung and angry?

All and all.. he was friendly.
    Maybe disturbed.. but friendly.

And now… these posters are showing up on the weekends outside of Maple Leaf Medical Clinic.
(“Prison” is not on the building’s sign.)

Last weekend his name was written over these mini-posters in black magic marker, saying he was “NOTS” I know that NUTS should be used, but it said he was NOTS.
    Maybe he did it himself??

    …”Stop the Insanity!”
    Where is Susan Powter?

Did Gay Doctor Graham Smith send the patient to prison because he was Gay HIV AIDS? Prisons are hot with lots of rough sex. I don’t see the problem here. Didn’t he ever watch OZ?

Lew: I don’t enjoy AbFab much these days. I’m more Kath And Kim from Australia. As for butt dragging – How dare you look into our apartment on a Saturday night!

Gabriel: If you ever get the chance, go into the Maple Leaf Medical Clinic and Correctional Service. It’s a maze of crap. Dalton McGuinty would do best not to mention his “track record” on health care after seeing this place.

I think I’ll improve on the Haiku of this sign:

    Gay Doctor, Graham Smith
What have you done to the gay?
    Is he Locked away?

the guy who put up the posters did, in fact, wind up briefly in jail. however, it has nothing to do with HIV status, and everything to do with his stalking and obsession.

    baby wants attention.

  6. Gabriel...

I’ve never heard of the Prison Maple Leaf Medical Clinic… is it possible this would be a good place to send someone who is HIV positive? The note doesn’t say, but maybe Dr. Graham Smith should be commended for doing it as an act of charity… maybe the PMLMC is like a Disney Land for people who are HIV positive.

You’d think by now everyone would now how to import a photo into a Word document.

I’m more confused by this than the Japanese 3D chick.

It reads like a poorly clapped-out haiku, as in, who did what to whom, when or where.

A picture of a lost dog is way easier to figure out, and I now have 10,000 of them within our neighborhood since last weekend. I do not, however, believe the dog has AIDS, works at a hospital, or has been sent to prison.

With that, we live similar lives, but without the joys of watching Absolutely Fabulous and/or doing dirty butt drags across the living room together.

    Is that too deep?
